TIMBER PEST INSPECTIONS

A timber pest inspection is conducted to inspect a property for timber pest activity and damage. It also assesses how conducive a site is to such activity and what measures should be taken to minimise attractive environments for a timber pest infestation. This inspection covers fungal decay (timber rot), wood-boring insects and subterranean termites.

Statistically, 1 in 3 Australian homes have been or will be attacked by termites. Most homes will be affected by wood borers or fungal timber decay.

The inspection shall comprise non-invasive techniques to identify evidence of timber pest activity and the damage caused by subterranean damp-wood termites, borers of seasoned timber and wood decay fungi.

COMBINED BUILDING AND TIMBER PEST INSPECTIONS

A combined Building and Pest Inspection is an all-encompassing assessment that reports on and includes all the details obtained from both the Building Inspection and the Timber Pest Inspection. This dual inspection is our most detailed and comprehensive report with the broadest scope.

We are trained, registered and insured to conduct the Combined Building and Timber Pest inspection. This inclusive inspection service is highly recommended and should be the chosen report service for all property inspections regardless of building type, age, condition or site location.

HANDOVER / PRACTICAL COMPLETION INSPECTIONS

A Handover or Practical Completion Inspection (PCI) checks the finishing quality of new home construction to an industry-acceptable standard. It is critical to perform this inspection by an experienced independent inspector that’s aware of the expected level of workmanship required. We highlight non-compliances, incomplete works, substandard workmanship, poor attention to detail, finishing element defects, and safety concerns. All building works will be thoroughly checked with any discrepancies in the Victorian Building Authorities Guide to Standards and Tolerances 2015, identified and compiled in a detailed, photographic PDF report. Bloom’s Handover PCI reports are completed and compiled by a fully insured, registered builder. Assessment of building drawings and contractual correctness does not form part of our service.
